Daylight Savings Time Begins in Cuba on March 10

HAVANA TIMES — This coming Sunday, March 10, “daylight savings time” will take effect in Cuba, according to an article published yesterday by the Juventud Rebelde newspaper.

At 12:00 pm on Saturday, March 9, Cubans should move the hands of their watches ahead one hour, ending the current “normal schedule,” which has been in effect since November 4.

Days are longer in summer months, so the time change will make better use of sunlight in daily activities, which will lead to a reduction in electricity consumption nationally.
