HAVANA TIMES — Tampa International Airport will see two of its five weekly flights to Cuba cancelled starting in February, reported the Café Fuerte website.
According to airport officials, the company Xael Charters will no longer offer weekly Tampa-Havana service on February 14, while ABC Charters will discontinue its direct flight to the eastern city of Holguin beginning February 28.
However the firm Island Travel & Tours will maintain its two weekly flights to Havana on Wednesday and Sunday, though the other cutbacks in service could result in increased tickets cost for travel to the island, adds the note.
Industry sources attributed the decline to insufficient passengers from Tampa.
