HAVANA TIMES, Jan 18 — The first air link between Washington and Havana will begin on March 21, announced William Hauf, the president of Island Travel & Tours.
The service will facilitate travel to Cuba by organizations and individuals in Maryland, Washington D.C. and the entire Atlantic coast, read the statement released on Tuesday.
The Tampa-based travel agency, in cooperation with the Sky King charter airline company out of California, will operate one weekly flight leaving from BWI Airport, located just south of Baltimore.
Currently seven airports in other US states provide this service, while ten others have been allowed to establish air links with the island.
The US government allows Cuban-Americans to travel freely to Cuba, however other US citizens must obtain a license, either individual or collective (through an organization) from the office of the US Department of the Treasury known as OFAC.
