Fidel Castro ‘Lucid and Working Hard’

HAVANA TIMES — Fidel Castro Diaz-Balart, the eldest son of former Cuban president Fidel Castro, said on Tuesday during a scientific seminar in Havana that his father is “lucid and working hard,” even though he’s staying away from the island’s public life, the EFE news agency reported.

“We saw his message sent to President Chavez the other day, which showed that he is — as always — lucid and working hard,” said Castro Diaz Balart, who is a scientific advisor of the Council State. He was referring to the message sent by the Cuban leader to Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez, who read the statement during a press conference on 10 September.

Since June, the Fidel Castro has not published any of his usual “Reflexiones” commentaries.
