Fidel, Raul & Chavez Talk Hours

HAVANA TIMES, April 11 – Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez headed home to Caracas on Saturday afternoon after a 30-hour visit to Cuba on his return from a tour that included Qatar, Iran, Japan and China.

Chavez met with both President Raul Castro and former President Fidel Castro. Venezuela is Cuba’s leading trade partner and the two countries have numerous joint venture and collaboration projects.

In one of his news media columns dated late Friday night, Fidel Castro wrote that his conversation with Chavez lasted for almost three hours and dealt with the Venezuelan leader’s trip, the upcoming Summit of the Americas (April 17-19) and the hunger strike begun by Bolivian President Evo Morales in his country.
