Guitarist Leo Brouwer Performing in Croatia

HAVANA TIMES, April 27 — Cuban guitarist and composer Leo Brouwer will conduct the Zagreb Symphony Orchestra today in its “Star Series.” The concert will be held in the capital city’s Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall, reported the Prensa Latina news agency.

Brouwer had previously invited the Bosnian artist Edin Karamazov to perform as a soloist in a monographic program that includes the work “Invisible Cities” for the symphony orchestra (based on the novel by Italian writer Italo Calvino).

The Croatian public will also be able to enjoy “Song of Deed for symphony orchestra,” one of Brouwer’s signature works, as well as “Iberian Suite” by Albeniz, with orchestration by the Cuban musician in three of its movements.
