Jazz Greats to Play the Music of Lecuona on Cuban Documentary

HAVANA TIMES — The prominent Dominican jazz pianist Michel Camilo announced he will record in February in Spain his contribution to the soundtrack of a film dedicated to the famous Cuban composer Ernesto Lecuona, reported Prensa Latina.

The documentary in production is directed by the Cuban filmmaker Pavel Giroud, and will also include the contributions of Cuban jazz greats Chucho Valdes and Gonzalo Rubalcaba.

Camilo, a 2013 Latin Grammy winner for best jazz album with “What’s up?” will perform “La Comparsa” by Lecuona in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, during the Tenerife Ports Christmas Concert.
