New China-Cuba Economic Agenda

HAVANA TIMES, Dec 27 — During a session of the China-Cuba intergovernmental commission, held yesterday in Beijing, the two countries agreed to work on the development of a mid-term bilateral economic agenda.

According to the Prensa Latina news agency, the agenda will cover the period between 2012-2016 cooperation will expand in such areas as health, biotechnology and agriculture.

Ricardo Cabrisas, the vice president of the Council of Ministers, presided over the meeting for Cuba and highlighted the trip by Vice President Xi Jinping to Cuba in June of this year. That visit was said to have strengthened political dialogue at the governmental level with the signing of 16 agreements between the two nations.
