New Flight Between Argentina & Cuba

HAVANA TIMES, Jan 4 — As of yesterday, a new air corridor between Argentina and Holguin province in eastern Cuba was established, noted the local Cuban press.

The flights will take place every Tuesday on a Boeing 767 with capacity for 300 passengers. The project will run until this coming May 1 with the possibility of extending these trips throughout the year.

Argentina will thereby become the number two country, behind Canada, in terms of direct flights within the country. Argentina will, however, maintain its number one position in Latin America in terms of flights to Cuba.

As of this past December 12, more than 73,000 Argentinian tourists visited the island last year, a figure that represents a 30.2 percent growth in that tourism market, emphasized the note.
