Osmani Garcia on Tour in the US

HAVANA TIMES, March 23 — Reggaeton musician Osmani Garcia, the creator of the controversial song “El Chupi Chupi,” will arrive in Miami on Monday where he will begin a 14-concert tour of the United States under the sponsorship of All Star Promotions, reported the Café Fuerte website today.

The singer will begin his Miami concert at the La Covacha club on April 7. He will continue on to other Florida cities such as Orlando, Tampa and Fort Lauderdale, and will later travel to Louisville, Kentucky; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Garcia was the center of a controversy in late 2011 when the music video for his song “El Chupi Chupi” was removed from the Lucas television award show after being criticized for its “high level of vulgarity,” according to an article in the official Granma newspaper.
