Shooting Begins on Film about Cuban Transvestite

HAVANA TIMES – “Fatima or the Fraternity Park” is the working title of the new film by renowned Cuban actor and filmmaker Jorge Perugorría, now being filmed on location in Havana, the Cuban News Agency reported.

According to sources of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry, the film is inspired by the homonymous story by Cuban writer Miguel Barnet, and tells “the story of a transvestite who circulates the streets of Havana,” said Perugorría.

The film is scheduled for shooting in six weeks and will feature the young actor Carlos Enrique Almirante, accompanied by Broselianda Hernandez, Nestor Jimenez, Thomas Cao and Mirtha Ibarra.
