HAVANA TIMES, Feb 25 — Despite the politics and other difficulties involved, numerous Cuban baseball stars and prospects have found their way to signing contracts with US Major League Baseball teams and are currently at the top level or in the Minor Leagues.

The latest well publicized signing was that of outfielder Yoennis Cespedes by the Oakland Athletics for $36 million.

While these players become untouchables for the Cuban media once they have left the island, treated as traitors by the government, the fans often maintain their interest and wish the players well.

For those wanting to track Cuban baseball players in the USA we recommend the Cubanball.com website. It gives you a player by player statistical rundown of their performance in the majors and minor leagues.
