HAVANA TIMES, Dec 29 — Tonight at the Garcia Lorca Hall of Havana’s Grand Theatre, a performance of the Ballet Nacional de Cuba will honor the 80th anniversary of the artistic debut of Alicia Alonso.
The company will recall December 29, 1931, the first time the legendary dancer and choreographer danced on stage for the Sociedad Pro Arte Musical Ballet School.
The memorial program will include works choreographed by Alonso, 91, who remains in the forefront of the leading ballet company on the island.
