HAVANA TIMES, Dec 16 — Pianist and composer Arturo O’Farrill is participating in the 27th International Jazz Plaza Festival in Havana, which is underway through this Sunday, December 18.
The artist was featured at the opening event, along with the Cuban pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba. O’Farrill also participated in the festival’s theoretical symposium, where he exchanged views with young jazz musicians from the island.
The winner of the Latin Jazz Outstanding Achievement Award in the US (2003), O’Farrill also has to his credit a Grammy award for Best Latin Jazz Album in 2009.
