HAVANA TIMES, Dec. 6 — Cuban vehicle registration offices processed 14,630 automobiles as of November 25, with Havana Province recording the greatest number of title transfers, reported the Granma newspaper today.
Of these transactions, a total of 3,310 were sales already completed and 994 to vehicle title transfers between individuals.
The figure marks a significant increase in activity since this past October’s issuance of a law and complementary resolutions that relaxed the procedures for the transfer of vehicle ownership between individuals, which had been virtually illegal.
