Havana’s Marti Theater Reopens Next Week

HAVANA TIMES – The Martí Theatre of Havana, a Cuban heritage relic of the nineteenth century , will reopen on February 24 after 30 years of inactivity after a complex restoration, reported EFE.

According to officials in charge of the restoration , the project has cost around six million dollars” to return the theater topublic life with the essence of yesteryear and a touch of modernity.”

The theater will have a total of  720 seats on three floors.

Due to the deterioration of its infrastructure, the theater had been closed since the late 1970s, and it was not until 2000 that work began for preservation and renovation.
