HAVANA TIMES, July 7 — The baseball game scheduled Tuesday between Cuba (4-0) and Taiwan (2-2) was postponed due to rain.
In Monday’s only game at the World Port Cities Tournament, host Holland (1-4) easily defeated Japan (2-3) on a four-hit 8-0 shutout. In winning its first game, the Dutch team pounded out 16 hits against the Japanese pitching.
Cuba is scheduled to play Japan Wednesday at 8:00 EST, which Taiwan plays Holland at 1:00 p.m.
