Cuba’s Dominguez Top Player in Spain Chess Tourney

HAVANA TIMES — Cuban chess player Leinier Dominguez closed out his playing today with a victory over Spanish competitor Daniel Alsina in the Spanish League Cup Division in honor the city of Leon, reported the Prensa Latina news agency.

With this victory against the top player of Barcelona Uga, Dominguez consolidated himself as the best in the competition in that section with five units, ahead of the Indian Pentala Harikrishna, Romanian Marin Mihailel, Georgian Mikheil Mchedlishvili and Bulgarian Ivan Cheparinov.

Finally the Sestao Naturgas Energia victor won 4-2 against his rival and accumulated 13 points, which cemented his winning the chess summit that was underway since the previous Saturday.
