Havana Marathon to Welcome Cubans and Visitors

HAVANA TIMES.- The Marabana marathon takes place this coming November 16 in Havana. The popular event will host its 22nd edition and is open to locals and foreigners alike. The race winds through the main avenues and several neighborhoods of the Cuban capital.

MARABANA MARATHON

The Circuit, in which the Marathon and Middle Marathon will take place is certified by AIMS/IASF and includes 21 kilometers and 97.50 meters, coinciding the starting point and the finish, therefore if you run it twice the distance is 42 km and 195 meters.

To date the Havana full marathon record for men is 2:13:37 and 2:43:29 for women. The half marathon record is 1:04:10 for men and 1:14:56 for women.

For the first time foreigners wanting to sign up can pre-register online by sending an e-mail with their personal information to marabana@inder.cu The registration fee for individuals runs from 40 to 70 Convertible Cuban Pesos (US $48 to $84) depending on when you make payment.
