Argentinian Business Reps to Visit Cuba

HAVANA TIMES — An Argentinian trade mission will travel to Havana in September as an advance party for that South American nation’s participation in the 30th International Havana Trade Fair (FIHAV 2012), announced Cuban diplomat Jorge Valdes Risquet yesterday in Buenos Aires.

The mission will represent at least 24 companies and business associations, and is organized by the Foreign Ministry’s program in support of foreign trade and the Metallurgical Industry Association of Argentina, said Risquet.

“Cuba has great potential, which is why we need to take part in FIHAV” said Hernan Lizarralde, representing the Fundacion Exportar. He said his company will have 123-square-meter booth and will make a business center available to the Argentinian business reps.

Trade between Argentina and Cuba last year saw an increase of almost 14 percent over 2010, meaning that it has reached its highest level since 1999.
