HAVANA TIMES, April 11 — Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff, who was received on Monday by Barack Obama, attempted to get the US government to allow the attendance of Cuba at the Summit of the Americas, reported the ANSA press agency.
The position of Rousseff’s government is in support of the inclusion of Cuba at the hemispheric conference because the risk of making the meeting “empty” if the US insists on excluding the Caribbean nation, the agency reported.
Brazilian businesspeople are also asking the president to express her disagreement with a law passed in Florida that penalizes foreign companies that do business in Cuba.
