Cuba’s Council of Ministers Discuss Census

HAVANA TIMES, Dec 23 —An expanded meeting was held in Havana of the Council of Ministers last week, reported today by the official Granma newspaper.

Presented during the meeting were projections through 2015 of the implementation of the guidelines approved earlier this year by the Communist Party. Plans to improve the administrative systems and bodies across the country were also introduced.

In addition, discussions were held on preparations for the population and housing census to be conducted in September 2012. The results will allow the Cuban government to have more precise information about the economic and social situation of the island’s population.
