Cuba Calls for Complete Disarmament

HAVANA TIMES, Dec 23 — The Cuban government supported the findings of the Seventh Conference on the Review of the Biological Weapons Convention, which took place in Geneva from December 5 to 22, reported the Prensa Latina news agency.

Cuban Ambassador Rodolfo Benitez, speaking at the conclusion of the conference, said the work plans for the period 2012-2016 that were adopted there are a step forward towards achieving general and complete disarmament.

Cuba was acting on behalf of the Non-Aligned Movement (to which it was elected vice president this year) to make advances on the prohibition and elimination of stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction.
