Cuba Hosts Regional Sports Games

HAVANA, April 15 — The 3rd Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas (ALBA) Sports Games begin Wednesday in Cuba. Delegations from around 20 countries are expected to participate in 30 sports. The Games will take place at facilities in all of Cuba’s 14 provinces through April 27.

The ALBA is a regional integration initiative begun by Cuba and Venezuela and which also includes Bolivia, Honduras, Nicaragua and Dominica as member countries. It stresses social development along with mutually beneficial cooperation and trade.
