Two Cuban Doctors Die in Traffic Accident in Venezuela

HAVANA TIMES, April 20 — Two Cuban doctors and a Venezuelan who were part of the Mission Milagro eye-care program died in a traffic accident on Monday in that South American country, reported EFE.

“Today we must say farewell, with tears crossing our hearts, to our comrades Yudelkis Anet Urquiza Pereira, Osvaldo Juan Barcelo Bedriñana and Jose Ramon Lemus of the Mission Miracle program,” said President Hugo Chavez in a statement made on Wednesday from Havana.

For unknown reasons, the vehicle in which they were traveling fell into a large river about 13 miles from Merida, the capital of the eastern state of that same name.
