José Dariel Abreu Sets MLB Records

HAVANA TIMES — Cuban José Dariel Abreu drove in four runs Sunday in the game that his Chicago White Sox won 9-2 over the Tampa Bay Rays, to set a record for RBI by a rookie in April .

Abreu, who belted a two-run homer in the sixth inning and drove in two more in the seventh, now totals 31 RBIs. The home run was his tenth in the season, which leads the majors.

This Sunday, Abreu also became the first player in major league history to reach the figure of four games with four or more RBIs in his first 26 games.

Another Cuban White Sox, Dayan Viciedo batted one-for-three Sunday with an RBI, while Alexei Ramirez hit for two-for-four with an RBI. Both are in the top ten batters of the American League.
