Havana Weather for May 15-21
Showers and isolated thunderstorms
Eduardo A. Fernández Díaz
HAVANA TIMES – Cuba and adjacent seas are under the presence of a surface storm, which is positioned over the Gulf of Mexico. This, coupled with moisture embedded in the trade winds that affect the region may produce isolated showers and thunderstorms during the first half of the forecast period.
The winds will suffer a change of direction from southeast to northwest produced by the passage of an end of season frontal system. Starting Saturday the wind will blow from northeast. The wind speed during the period will range between 20 and 25 km/h, but may be higher in the afternoon. The relative humidity will be high, reaching up to 90 %, especially in the first half of the term.
The maximum temperature will range about 29° C (84 F) and the lows around 21° C (70 F) .
The sea surface temperature will reach 27° C (81 F).
