Rations for Havana Residents July 7-13

HAVANA TIMES — The following is the list of rationed protein products that Havana residents can buy with their ration booklets in their neighborhood “bodega” stores for the week of July 7-13. The portions are distributed by month on a rotation basis in the 15 municipalities of the capital.

Although the amounts seem little to persons from abroad, on the island they still have significant importance for pensioners and people living off their wages in local currency.

MINCE MEAT (½ pound per consumer): Conclude distribution in Plaza, continue distribution in Centro Habana and Arroyo Naranjo, and begin in La Lisa.

MORTADELLA (½ pound per consumer): Conclude distribution in Regla, Cerro and Marianao, continue distribution in Guanabacoa, and San Miguel Diez de Octubre.

GROUND BEEF (½ pound Ages 0-13 years). Continue distribution in Boyeros, Habana Vieja and Cotorro, and begin in Playa.

EGGS (5 per consumer and medical diets) Conclude in Guanabacoa and Habana del Este, continue distributing in Diez de Octubre, Boyeros and Plaza.

CHICKEN for FISH (11 ounces per consumer): Conclude in La Lisa.

FISH (6 pounds for medical and special diets for children up to 8 years): Distribute in Plaza, Centro Habana and Diez de Octubre.

During July habaneros also receive a quota of 7 pounds of rice, 10 ounces of grains (beans or peas), 3 pounds of white sugar and 1 pound of brown sugar, ½ pound of oil, 13 small boxes of sauce, 4 ounces of coffee (for those over 7 years), and salt for household composition.
