World Health Org. Chief Visits Cuba
HAVANA TIMES —The Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Margaret Chan, is in Cuba and will visit several scientific research centers, reports Granma newspaper.
The senior official is accompanied by the Director of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), Carissa F. Etienne on her third visit to the island.
“Whenever I come I learn something new about the scientists, the Cuban health workers, Chan told the national press at the time of her arrival, on Sunday at the Jose Marti International Airport.
During their stay, the delegation will visit the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, the Immunoassay Center and the Center of Molecular Immunology. In addition, Chan will give a lecture at the headquarters of the Ministry of Public Health.
