HAVANA TIMES — The XVI Informatics Fair is taking place through Friday March 18 at the Pabexpo fairgrounds in Havana.

The fair is mainly a business session where foreign companies show their technological developments to executives from Cuban state companies and institutions interested in improving their outdated technologies.

Likewise, Cuban software producers and universities put on display the fruits of their efforts.

Cuba is one of the planet’s most disconnected countries in regards to the general population and the Internet. However, some hope the renewed relations with the United States will speed up the process of the island entering into the modern online world.
