HAVANA TIMES, Aug. 25 (IPS) – Cuba is getting ready to host the 15th Meeting and Incentive Travel Market (MITM) Regional Tourism Fair November 18 and 19 at the Hotel Meliá Cohiba in Havana.

MITM America Commercial Director Charo Trabado from Spain said that the organizing committee has been overwhelmed with applications to participate in the event, especially from Europe and the United States.

The Meeting and Incentive Travel Market Fair is opened to a maximum of 100 exhibitors and 100 buyers thus guaranteeing quality participants with elevated buying potential.

Purchaser applications have come from Germany, France, Belgium, Holland, Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Norway, the United States, Canada, Mexico and Brazil.

Trabado said that the event is coveted by Latin American exhibitors who see it as a golden opportunity to make contact with incentive and conference organizers from Europe and the Americas.

More than 300 applications from 16 countries have been received to participate as buyers, while close to 70% of the 100 exhibitor stands have already been sold.

The annual gathering on conferences, events and incentive tourism is organized by the Spanish company, GSART Marketing, Grupo Convención S.A. España, and is rotated between different countries.

Cuba also hosted the event in 2004.
