My Program in Front of the Cuban Consulate in Spain
By Nonardo Perea
HAVANA TIMES – My program En la cama con Nonardo (In bed with Nonardo) shot on October 9th in front of the Cuban Consulate in Spain, Madrid, went up shortly after on YouTube.
My intention with this program, which is shared by everyone who was present at the protest, was just to demand freedom from the Cuban government for everyone who lives on the island.
We made a call in support of activist Xiomara Blanco, who is currently in a hospital, and as of this writing hadn’t received a proper diagnosis.
We also demanded that they stop “regulating” (prohibiting travel for) journalists, activists and artists, as it violates their right to freedom of movement.
We also focused on Cuba’s LTBTIQ+ community, which has always been one of the most repressed groups in society and has suffered all kinds of rejection.
Once again, I am joining the fight to end the dictatorship that has been oppressing an entire nation for 60 years. I am contributing my two cents from Spain, to give visibility to what is happening in my country, which despite being far away right now, will always be that: my country.
Even though the video is only available in Spanish, here it is:
Aye Dios, en que Mondo estamos ?
Genial Nonardo.. eres uno de ésos activistas que cuándo uno conoce hacen que esta lucha valga la pena
