Cuba Starts to Roll Out Two Test Vaccines
HAVANA TIMES – Cuba began a mass vaccination campaign Wednesday using two of its domestically created COVID-19 vaccine candidates. Late-phase clinical trials of the Soberana 02 and Abdala vaccines aren’t due to wrap up until at least June, but Cuban officials say the benefits of administering the vaccines now outweigh the risks.
Thanks, you may be right.
Circles, I read Dan Segal’s comment to mean that he hopes that Cuba will recognize the validity of the vaccine cards held by tourists entering Cuba. By doing so, these tourists should be exempt from quarantines, wearing masks, etc.
I agree and no idea if they will or when. I think they are banking on their vaccines being approved and being able to market them abroad and use them at home, which would probably include visitors. However, most visitors coming in the summer and beyond will likely already have their vaccines unless they don’t want to take it.
Circles I hope Cuba also begins to recognize international vaccines too. Do you think they will, for tourists and travelers? And assuming so, when do you think?
They say the test period of two vaccines may conclude sometime in June. Let’s hope the results are positive and recognized internationally.
I mentioned very recently that a dear friend of mine had received his vaccine.
In fact he has had two jabs.
I was advised by the editor of this esteemed and noble publication that no Cuban vaccine had as yet been approved.
The dear Cuban friend to whom I was referring works in this sphere. Not in the development or medical side, but on the distribution side of things. Therefore he had early vaccinations due to this involvement.
Anyway I’m pleased to report not too many side effects were experienced after his jabs.
My guess would be that Cuba will get this vaccination program rolled out with haste.
Cuba is sh*t at some things. Sh*t at many things perhaps.
But good at others.
