Discussions on Energy and Environment
HAVANA TIMES, April 5 – Some 100 specialists from several countries will debate issues such as the relationship between renewable energy sources and food security and water supply during the 9th Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development International Workshop that will be held starting Tuesday in the eastern province of Granma, announced Amado Calzadilla of the Organizing Committee. The event is sponsored by the Cuban Society for the Promotion of Renewable Energy Sources and Respect for the Environment (CUBASOLAR), reported IPS.
If Cuba had a fiber-optic cable infrastructure and everyone in the country had nice computers, lots of people could follow such a gathering live, or by recorded video later. Maybe next Workshop, eh? Then a lot of good organizing could come out of just one good conference, than did usually, during the paper/journal era.
Has Cuba even touched a small percentage of the permaculture potential of the island yet, for instance..?
