Cuba Promotes Beer Tourism

HAVANA TIMES, Aug. 11 — Cuba presented the Art of Beer Cultural Route, a tourist package that tours 30 sites in the eastern city of Holguín related to the history and present of that beverage, the local press reported.  The initiative opens tomorrow, precisely one week before the start of the carnival in that city, known for the production of the Mayabe beer, reported IPS.

  • Hurrah for Cuba!! Beer Tourism is a subset of Culinary Tourism which is growing globally in momentum at a rate of knots.
Having just completed my CCTP cetification [Certified Culinary Tourism Professional] I have learnt so much about Culinary Tourism on the whole.
For instance, Culinary Tourism should be at the heart of any destinations promotion! Why? because every visitor will eat and drink at least once a day but in Cuba-visitors will not buy cigars every day-see where I am going with this.
If a destination is clever they will recognise this and start to work on it-it seems as if Cuba has started!
