HAVANA TIMES, August 11 – The weather for the entire seven-day period will be typical of summer: hot – even in the early mornings. The occurrence of rain in the afternoons is likely. It is expected that on Saturday afternoon (August 13), storms will occur with the arrival of a tropical wave.
The maximum temperatures will fluctuate between 31°C (88°F) and 33°C (91°F), while the minimum temperatures will drop to between 24°C (75°F) and 26°C (79°F).
Variable and weak winds will prevail throughout the whole period.
The sea surface temperature will be 30°C (86°F).
A tropical wave is extending across the Atlantic Ocean from 22°N and 35°W and 12°N 31°W. To the south of the wave is a low pressure center. Atmospheric conditions seem to be favorable for the transition of this low pressure system into a tropical hurricane during next 48 hours as that system moves toward the west at a speed of between 16 km/h (10 mph) and 25 km/h (15 mph).
The rest of the areas of the Atlantic Ocean, the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico are not expected to see the development of any tropical cyclones in the next 24 to 48 hours.
