Cuban Parliament to Convene
HAVANA TIMES, Dec. 3 — Members of Cuba’s “National Assembly of Popular Power” (Spanish: Asamblea Nacional del Poder Popular) received an official announcement on Saturday convening their next session.
Parliament president Ricardo Alarcon de Quesada called for the holding of the eighth regular session of the seventh legislature of the National Assembly on December 23 at the Palace of Conventions in Havana.
The People’s National Assembly represents country’s authority regarding legislative actions. It was founded on December 2, 1976, meaning that it has just marked its 35th anniversary.
The Assembly holds only two brief regular sessions per year.
