More Leasing Options in Cuba
HAVANA TIMES, Dec 26 — A special edition of the Gaceta Oficial de Cuba today issued resolutions that extend lease options to self-employed workers starting January 1, 2012.
The measure will benefit carpenters, photographers, upholsterers, locksmiths, watchmakers, shoemakers and repairers, jewelers, mattresses and electrical equipment repairers, among other types of services provided by nearly 360,000 Cubans who are now self-employed.
According to a report from the Prensa Latina news agency, the expansion will begin in the provinces of Pinar del Rio, Havana, Matanzas, Villa Clara, Ciego de Avila and Las Tunas, and will later extend to the rest of the country.
