Cuban Films at San Diego Film Festival
HAVANA TIMES, March 7 — Five recently produced Cuban films will participate in the upcoming 19th annual International Latino Film Festival in San Diego, California, starting on March 8. These will include the movie Habanastation, directed by Ian Padron, reported the Prensa Latina news agency.
Also to be featured are Boleto al paraio, by Gerardo Chijona; the tropical zombie spoof Juan de los muertos, by Alejandro Brugues; El camino de las gaviotas, co-produced with Brazil; and the short film Abdala, el retorno de los señores de Xibalba, directed by Adrian Lopez.
Headquartered at the theaters of the UltraStar Mission Valley Cinemas Hazard Center, the festival is expected to attract over 20,000 people with its 160 Spanish-language films, among which the largest number are from Argentina.
