Controversy in Cuba over Rationed Rice Distribution

In Nuevo Vedado, the rice arrived at some ration stores last Friday along with “some chicken”. At others it did not arrive until Saturday.

It doesn’t matter if there’s no chicken for the population or flour for bread; there is a budget to sabotage a sports event.

“January’s rice is here!!” Marta shouted at the top of her lungs, while she climbed up the stairs in our apartment building.

Without daring to fully enter the subject, Cuba’s official press mentioned in passing the “organized mafias” of the gas stations.

“When there is no visibility due to fog, the airport does not have the ground equipment to guide the landing, so the planes must circle around”

Every morning, hundreds of vendors coincide again on the same street, with their life stories and hopes, and reasons for being there.
