Cuban Circus Artists Win Silver Clown Award in Monte-Carlo

HAVANA TIMES — A Cuban circus duo won the “Silver Clown,” one of the main prizes awarded at the International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo, based in Monaco, reports the Prensa Latina news agency.

This is the first time in the history of one of these competitions that Cuban artists have won one of these great circus laurels, considered the most famous, prestigious and oldest in the world.

For young Cubans Leosvel and Diosmani, who live in Mexico, this award is “their greatest satisfaction as professionals.” Previously they won the Erich Rozewick Runner-up Award and the special Moira Orfei Prize in that same competition.

In addition, the female duet “Fuerza Capilar,” made up of Cubans Dailys and Daramis, won the Louis Merlin Award on this occasion, another one of the runner-up prizes granted in this European event.
