A Look at Havana’s Airport
Photos by Caridad
HAVANA TIMES, Oct. 20 – The first and last place people visit upon arriving or leaving Cuba is Havana’s Jose Marti International Airport. The modern facility is located on the south side of the city about a half hours drive from downtown. Here is a photo feature from the airport by Caridad.

Good photos and what a lovely day. I don’t really like the airport, there’s to much metal and not enough comfort decorations, it looks quite sparse although I have never been there so who am I to judge.
As usual, great fotos, Caridad! Where, however, are the “Attack Cocker-Spaniels” used by the Aduana? They are one of the most endearing aspects of arriving/departing from Jose Marti. I keep meaning to bring them a bag of doggie treats. Also, those attractive young mini-skirted chicas from the Ministry of the Interior who buzz you in to Cuba.. The airport’s design is pleasant, even soothing. Will Cuba be prepared. however, for the hordes who will be deplaning, a la Cancun, in a few years when it is once again “legal” for us U.S. citizens to travel to Cuba?
