Carlos Varela Cancels Havana Concert

HAVANA TIMES, Feb 13 — The Cuban singer Carlos Varela canceled his concert that was scheduled for tomorrow (February 14) in Havana citing an increase in the ticket prices without his consent.

“The management of the place decided to unilaterally breach the contract [to keep ticket prices as affordable as possible] and to sell tickets for the concert and Valentine’s Day dinners at prices far above the purchasing power of most people who attend these concerts,” explained the artist in a press release.

The cancellation was made known through a statement released by the singer’s office, which specified that Varela had chosen the place (El Chevere) for its large public capacity and its technical attributes
