Cuba 2016 Photo Contest Finalists

HAVANA TIMES — The 8th Havana Times made in Cuba Photo Contest is nearing its climax with the selection of the finalists for the fourth and last round of selection by the 20-member jury participating from six countries.

After starting with 1,503 pictures sent in by 182 readers, the final round includes a total of 64 photos in the individual categories (Families, Machismo, Children, Cuban Inventions and Landscapes) plus 9 survivors in the Stories category.

A total of 45 persons, a fourth of the participants, have at least one picture in the finals while some have multiple entries. Congratulations to those who made it this far!

Several jury members have said the choices are extremely hard in this final round recognizing the high quality of the works submitted.

Best of luck to all who are still competing and thanks again to all those that shared their photographs with Havana Times readers.

Jury Instructions for the Final Round

For this final round the jury has been asked to select a first, second, third and fourth place for each category.

Using a point system we then assign 10 points for first place selections, 5 for second, 3 for third and 1 for fourth. To determine the winners and special mentions we add up all the points received.

After receiving needed information from the winners we hope to publish the results by November 11th.
