Cuba Frees One Prisoner, Moves Six

HAVANA TIMES, June 11 — The Cuban government has decided to release one sick political prisoner and will move six others to jails closer to home on Saturday, reported IPS quoting Orlando Marquez, spokesperson from the Havana Archdiocese.

The prisoner to be released is Ariel Sigler Amaya, currently at the Julito Diaz Hospital in Havana.

Since May 19th talks between Cardinal Jaime Ortega and Cuban President Raul Castro a total of 12 political prisoners have been moved closer to their families.
