Cuba Not on Path of Tropical Storm Rafael
HAVANA TIMES — Tropical Storm Rafael formed in the eastern Caribbean on Friday and is heading on a course that would keep it far from Cuba.
The current projection cones of the National Hurricane Center (NHC) in Miami foresee Rafael moving north towards Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
The NHC has declared a tropical storm alert for the Virgin Islands, Anguilla, Barbuda, St. Kitts y Nevis, Antigua, Montserrat, Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Martin, Guadeloupe, Desirade, Les Saintes, Marie Galante, Martinique y St. Lucia.
A tropical storm watch is in effect for Puerto Rico, Culebra and Vieques islands.
