Cuban Jurists Congress Ends Today

HAVANA TIMES, Feb 21 — The seventh congress of the Union of Jurists of Cuba, being held since yesterday, concludes today at the Havana Convention Center, reported the Prensa Latina news agency.

The delegates, who worked yesterday at the Pedagogical Center in the suburb of Cojimar, focused their discussions on the role of lawyers in “updating the Cuban economic model.”

Also discussed were issues such as strengthening the institutional and ethical behavior of lawyers and the current situation and projections in the legal sector.

The meeting was attended by the heads of the Attorney General’s Office and the Supreme Court, among other authorities in the field.
