Cuban Rockers to Perform in Texas

HAVANA TIMES — Cuban rock bands Agonizer, Escape, and Ancestro will perform in the famous US rock festival “South by South West,” in the US city of Austin, Texas.

In the demanding Texas scene, the Cubans will share the stage with rock icons such as Iggy Pop (Lust for Life), Dave Grohl (ex-Nirvana) and Green Day (Boulevard of Broken Dreams).

Barely a month after the conclusion of the Brutal Fest event on the island, attended by French and Nordic musicians, rock exponents from the island will head out to test their mettle.

Alberto Munoz, a promoter for the Cuban Rock Agency, told Prensa Latina that currently national labels are showing more interest in metal, which still requires understanding, resources and outreach.
