Cuban Singer a Success in France

HAVANA TIMES, Dec 22 — Cuban singer Ivette Cepeda commented yesterday at a press conference about the French public’s warm reception of her at a recent concert on stage at the Eigheim Les Bains Arts Center in Paris.

The artist and the group Reflexion, which accompanied her, were applauded for more than 10 minutes by several thousand spectators, following their performances of Cuban song classics.

Cepeda will conclude 2011 with concerts on December 29 and 30 at the Mella Theater in Havana, while in February the DVD of her Paris concert will be released here in Havana.

Possessing a select repertoire and unique style, she has won a position among the most remarkable artists from the island. Ivette Cepeda came to the fore in 2008, and in 2009 triumphed on a successful tour of 24 cities in Germany, Switzerland and Denmark.
