Cuban Volleyball Out of London Olympics

HAVANA TIMES — The Cuban male volleyball squad lost its final chance to qualify for the Olympics due to a win by Germany on Sunday during a pre-Olympic tournament in Berlin.

The Caribbean team had reached first place by defeating the squad from India, but the German victory against the Czech Republic ended up placing them on top, allowing them to walk away with the only ticket to the Olympics offered in the competition.

Meanwhile, the Cuban women’s team had already lost its chance to participate in London.
